Feryal Menemenli

 

Feryal Menemenli, who completed her high school education at Üsküdar American Girls' High School, continued her studies at Boğaziçi University, Faculty of Basic Sciences, Department of Chemistry. After her graduation (MSc), she completed her PhD (PhD) studies at Boğaziçi University, Institute of Environmental Sciences, on the subject of Structure-Effect Relationships of Environmentally Polluting Chemicals.

During her professional career, which started at Eczacıbaşı İlaç Sanayi AŞ in 1981, she has especially focused on the production of antibiotics and researching their effects, she also took part in the establishment of the related production facilities . In the same time, she simultaneously gave postgraduate applied courses on Fermentation Technologies at Istanbul University and published various publications in this field.

She founded Doğa Bitkisel Ürünleri Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ, a leading company in the production and distribution of plant-based, natural, additive-free, functional foods, in 1989. Under the Doğa brand, she produced the first functional herbal teas and garlic tablets approved by the Ministry of Health,also jams and marmalades with no added sugar,brown sugar and many other firsts to the Turkish Market.

With this pioneering initiative;

• In 2001, she was awarded the "Most Successful Woman Entrepreneur" by the World Globus Group,

• In 2002, she was awarded the “Best Woman Entrepreneur of the Year 2002”/Best Female Entrepreneur of the Year 2002 by the “United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) / United Nations Economic Commission for Europe” in the category of Innovative Entrepreneurship,

• "Fasih İnal Entrepreneurship Award" by Dünya Newspaper in 2003,

• Received the "Most Successful Entrepreneur of the Year" award in the "Business People of the Year" election held by the "Ekonomist" magazine, one of the Doğan Media Group magazines, in 2005.

In 2008, Feryal Menemenli sold his shares in Doğa Herbal Ürünleri Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ, which he has been the Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Manager since its establishment, to one of Turkey's largest food companies. He is still the Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Manager of KOCAMAAR Tarım Ürünleri Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ, of which he is one of the founders.

Feryal Menemenli is one of the founders of non-governmental organizations such as the Women Entrepreneurs Association (KAGIDER) and the Tea Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (ÇAYSİAD). He took an active role in the management of various non-governmental organizations such as the Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (TÜSİAD), All Food Importers' Association (TÜGİAD), especially during his active working years. 

Feryal Menemenli is married and has two daughters.

The corporate awards received by Doğa Herbal Products Industry and Trade Inc., founded by Feryal Menemenli, who broke new ground, are:

• Awarded the "Stars of Export" in the "New Market Category" for the export of sugar-free marmalades to Japan, within the scope of the "Export Promotion Awards" by World Globus in 2002,

• Received the "Consumer 2003 Quality Award" in the Herbal Products Category in the "Brands and Their Effects on Consumers" research conducted by the Consumer Magazine in 2003,

• In 2003, selected by the Trade Leaders' Club among 15,000 entrepreneurs from 110 countries, and awarded the "International Golden Europe Award for Quality-New Millennium Award",

• In 2004, it was deemed worthy of the "Private Sector" category award by the "United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)".
