LOCAL BEEKEEPING, ARTISANAL HONEY!

Today, we observe that beekeeping has become "industrial" as in many other fields. Honey cannot find the value it deserves, because of an understanding whose only concern is to increase the amount of marketable produce. We see that although the bee and the beekeeper are the main producers, they have become the most insignificant part of the honey production process. The beekeeper's knowledge and experience to produce a quality honey loses its meaning, and good beekeeping is rapidly becoming unsustainable. Bees, which enable the ecosystem to function in a balanced way today, are the initiators and maintainers of the all pollination processes and thus the reproduction of plants. It would not be wrong to say that we owe our life on earth to a delicate balance maintained by the bees. In the “industrial” beekeeping model, which does not give importance to locality & quality; the genetic structure of bees is mixed, diseases become widespread, even some bee species become extinct and as a result, the relationship between beekeeping and the ecosystem is rapidly breaking down...

It is possible to reverse this negative picture, only by taking nature, the bee and the beekeeper to the center. This means avoiding beekeepers from being the workers of the industry and turning to artisanal beekeeping, eventually will pay off. Knowing that when a beekeeper produces the best honey possible, even the produce is limited, they will earn the money that they deserve.

Our main goal here is to introduce you to local honeys that are produced in the most accurate way and have unforgettable tastes... While doing this, we will identify beekeepers who do their work with a sustainable understanding, reward them as they deserve. Our aim is to motivate and set an example for more beekeepers in the region to carry out sustainable beekeeping.

Of course, this does not mean that we can get a very high amount of honey every season. Because instead of feeding sugar to the bees, we aimed to work with beekeepers who share the crop with the bees, as it should be. Bees start working when the flowers open. When the winter period comes, they continue their lives by consuming the honey, they produce in the summer.

With all this perspective, we invite you to taste Datça's famous Thyme and Pine Honeys. Pine Honey have unfortunately become rare due to climate change and fires, therefore it is in very limited numbers. We also bring Lavender honey to your home from the Kuyucak region of Isparta, which is famous for its lavender fields. And sometimes Cedar Honey from Isparta which is also very limited. We are happy to present these beautiful honeys, which have different flavors, to your liking.
